"A powerful thriller with religious overtones and a great twist ending…

Williams presents a psychological thriller that builds slowly without fully revealing its secrets until the very end…The touches of Faulknerian experimentalism are enthralling... Williams also has a Chandleresque ability to craft accurately observed but sinister descriptions, even of everyday objects…The work develops themes of faith and salvation as Hattie Lou searches for restitution, and it all builds toward an unexpected conclusion."

Summerton is a small and unusual bit of the world. A place that may or may not actually exist. It’s a mountain municipal technicality, and the only reason anyone who’s not from there has heard the name Summerton is because of the cemetery sign and the marker pointing to it from out on the highway.

Over the generations, Summerton has survived everything the outside world has thrown at it, from the miners to the loggers to the poisoning textile mills. Now, it faces its biggest threat yet: Brother Eli. The new preacher at Mountain Baptist Church of the Risen Christ came to the mountain to save souls and to redeem his own.

Instead, he triggers a sordid and winding tale mixing faith, politics, drugs, murder, and revenge all amidst the eternal truth of the mountain.

"...a captivating read that’s poignant and magical. A beguiling and luminous tale of loss and hope." - Kirkus Reviews

From the daring dreams of a young female astronaut to the terror of a trailblazing university Provost to the struggles of a Dad who lost a child and one who was never able to have one, Henrietta Hung the Moon is a powerful meditation on the stories that draw us together over time and across differences—the stories that ultimately give life to our living.

Anderson Williams is an artist, entrepreneur, educator, and - most importantly - a Dad of daughters. This debut novel is his third book.
Henrietta Hung the Moon is a curious and heart-warming novel that bends genres to deliver a deeply human story of life, death, and the value of stories themselves.

To create is to be human. To be human is to create.  Creating should not and cannot be solely the domain of the arts. While my background is in the visual arts, my life has made me an organizer, an educator, a nonprofit executive, a consultant, an entrepreneur, a product manager, a coach, a parent and so much more. Any success I have had in any of these realms, personally or professionally, can be directly attributed to my education in the arts. The creative process is about learning and growth and, at times, even survival. This book shares the sustenance creating has provided no matter where life has taken me.

"You have thought so deeply and multi-dimensionally about what it means to be creative and how that creativity can be manifested."

"For a piece under 200 pages, you covered a lot of ground and untied the Gordian Knot."

"You have read so many related works, and weave them so seamlessly into your own thinking...my list of titles I want to read has doubled!"

"I haven't read anything that clearly in a long time. It was well-written and put together smartly."

"Words for my heart."

"Thank you for writing this."

"So amazed and encouraged."

Power is a fundamental dynamic in every relationship we have - relationships with each other and with the organizations and institutions around us. To transform power and put it into action to positively impact our work and our world, we must first acknowledge our own power. In doing so, we must also help others find theirs. Only when we bring our power together as "we" will we be able to build and sustain meaningful, transformative work over time.

"Williams deftly explores the intersection of power and change, encouraging readers to reconsider the former to ignite the latter. This book is an important perspective from someone who has engaged in change work from the ground up."
